Jackson named CUSA Offensive Lineman of the Week
WKU Athletics Press Release
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Football left tackle Marshall Jackson has been named the Conference USA Offensive Lineman of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
The recognition comes after Jackson helped the Hilltoppers put up 642 yards in a 42-26 Senior Day win over Middle Tennessee on Saturday at Houchens-Smith Stadium.
It brings WKU’s total number of CUSA weekly awards for the season to 16. It is the second CUSA Offensive Lineman of the Week award for Jackson and the fourth for the Hilltoppers overall, with left guard Laurence Seymore receiving the other two recognitions. WKU’s 16 CUSA weekly awards in 2025 are the most in the league, with the next-closest team having nine. WKU’s four CUSA Offensive Lineman of the Week are tied for most in the league this season, and Jackson’s two are tied for the most CUSA Offensive Lineman of the Week awards by a player in the league.
WKU also has four CUSA Freshman of the Week awards – two by quarterback Rodney Tisdale Jr. and two from running back Marvis Parrish. WKU has won three CUSA Special Teams Player of the Week awards, with two from Cole Maynard and one from Koron Hayward. In addition to those recognitions, quarterback Maverick McIvor has claimed the CUSA Offensive Player of the Week award three times, running back La’Vell Wright has been named the league’s Offensive Player of the Week once and defensive back Jaylen Lewis has been named the CUSA Defensive Player of the Week once.
Jackson – the longest-tenured Hilltopper player – played a big role in helping his team rack up 642 yards in the Senior Day win over Middle Tennessee on Saturday at Houchens-Smith Stadium. Jackson posted the highest pass blocking grade – 77.0 with no sacks allowed over 79 snaps at left tackle – among WKU’s offensive lineman as the Hilltoppers tallied 371 yards and three touchdowns through the air. The fifth-year senior, who started his college career as a walk-on with no other Division I offers and was named a Burlsworth Trophy nominee earlier this fall, also had the highest run blocking grade among WKU’s starting offensive linemen. The Hilltoppers posted 271 yards on the ground – the team’s first time rushing for over 200 yards in a game since Oct. 10, 2024.
The Hilltoppers improved to 8-2 overall and 6-1 in CUSA play as the program claimed its seventh consecutive win over the rival Blue Raiders – which is tied for the longest winning streak by either team in the history of the 75-game series – and 14th-straight Senior Day win.
The Hilltoppers will hit the road to face LSU on Saturday, Nov. 22, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Kickoff at Tiger Stadium is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. CT and the game will be televised nationally on SEC Network.
