UPDATE: Captured – Inmate escapes Hart County Jail work detail

UPDATE: Law enforcement officials captured Dubree in Barren County near the Edmonson County line at 4:27 p.m.

Kentucky State Police troopers found Dubree on Mayhew Road in the car he is now accused of stealing, according to a release from KSP.

Police initiated a pursuit that ended in a corn field.

Dubree is charged with theft by unlawful taking of an automobile $500 or more but less than $10,000, second-degree escape, two counts of first degree fleeing or evading, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, first-degree criminal mischief, driving a vehicle with a DUI suspended license second offense, reckless driving, failure to wear seat belts and resisting arrest, according to the release.

HORSE CAVE, Ky.- Kentucky State Police say an inmate serving time in the Hart County Jail escaped during a work detail Tuesday morning.

It happened around 11:54 a.m. on Bluegrass Avenue.

According to jail staff, Cody Dubree, 28, gained access to a beige 1986 Nissan pick-up truck without consent and left the property. The license plate number on the truck is: 077VHG

Dubree is 5’9″ and approximately 180 lbs. He has brown eyes, brown hair and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a gray shirt and gray cap.
