Inaugural event raises money for local down syndrome organization

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On Friday night, the inaugural Pre-Derby Gala was held, with the proceeds benefiting Down Syndrome of South Central Kentucky.

The event was held at La Gala and featured a night of dinner and bourbon, a silent and live auction, and of course the Derby famous mint juleps.

Ladies dressed in their finest derby hats, and men in their most colorful ties.

Around 215 people attended the event. Event organizers say it will pay dividends for the organization and all those they serve in our community.
