Ice Cream and a Moo-vie raises money for Stuff the Bus

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A family favorite event has returned to Chaney’s Dairy Barn this summer, and this weekend it doubles as a way to help a local cause.

Ice Cream and a Moo-vie returns to Chaney’s Dairy Barn. On Friday and Saturday, “Minions: The Rise of Gru” will be shown on the side of the barn for families to enjoy.

But before that, a 5K and kids race will benefit Stuff the Bus, which raises money and donations to help families with school supplies.

Chaney’s advises you to bring along a little extra cash if you choose to donate to Stuff the Bus.

“Money is what we’re raising on stuff. The bus is for the 5K, so we have the 5K. People pay to run and they get a free scoop of ice cream as they run. It’s the sixth anniversary of it, so it’s cool. We hope we can continue to go year after year,” Carl Chaney, owner of Chaney’s Dairy Barn says.

Admission is free to watch the movie, which starts at dusk. They suggest to bring your own lawn chairs or blankets.

The remaining movies set to be shown this summer include:

“Sonic the Hedgehog 2” on June 30 & July 1

“The Bad Guys” on July 14 & 15

“Turning Red” on July 28 & 29

“Lyle, Lyle Crocodile” on August 11 & 12

“Finding Nemo” on September 1 & 2

“The Super Mario Bros. Movie” on September 15 & 16
