Mollie Marcoux Samaan is the new commissioner of the LPGA Tour. The athletic director at Princeton takes over for Mike Whan. He left the LPGA this year to become CEO of the U.S. Golf Association. Marcoux Samaan is only the second woman to the lead one of the most successful independent sports leagues for women. The tour is in its 71st year. She inherits a tour that made it through the COVID-19 pandemic with a 34-event schedule and record prize money approaching $80 million.
