NEW YORK (AP) — It’s long been said that defense wins championships. Now, coaches look at an NBA where the pace is quicker and shots come from deeper and see that offense is winning. That’s what the Brooklyn Nets want to prove. With Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving, perhaps no team has ever packed such offensive punch. Durant and Harden have combined for seven NBA scoring titles. The Nets lead the league in scoring and shooting percentage but have one of the worst defenses. Yet they don’t mind playing shootouts because they know they have the weapons.
