The NHL is taking another step forward in analytics and puck and player tracking. The league is partnering with Amazon Web Services to put all its video and data on the cloud. The hope is to provide everyone from coaches, executives and players to fans an integrated look at the game. It could lead to new statistics and analytics and at some point unveil a treasure trove of puck and player tracking information to dive into. NHL executive vice president of business development and innovation Dave Lehanski believes this is the foundation of all those future endeavors.
