Kentucky reports more than 1,000 virus cases, 34 deaths
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky has reported more than 1,000 new coronavirus cases and 34 more virus-related deaths. But the state’s report Wednesday says the rate of positive tests continues to decline. Gov. Andy Beshear says the statewide positivity rate dropped to 3.93%. The governor says the state still has far too many virus-related deaths. But he says the lower positivity rate shows people are doing what it takes to protect each other. Kentucky achieved its highest vaccination total yet in the last week when 127,110 people were inoculated against COVID-19.
