FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Gov. Andy Beshear says Kentucky has halted using the single-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. The state joined in pausing the J&J vaccine rollout Tuesday as federal health agencies investigate reports of rare but potentially dangerous blood clots. Beshear says the suspension doesn’t have to slow the pace of vaccinations in coming days. The state has large supplies of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. He says that means people with canceled appointments for J&J shots should be able to sign up to receive their first dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine as soon as this week.
