Kentucky offers cash prizes, scholarships for COVID-19 shots

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky is joining the giveaway bonanza to entice more people to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Gov. Andy Beshear on Friday offered $1 million prizes and full-ride college scholarships. He says three Kentucky adults will win $1 million. Fifteen youngsters ages 12-17 will be awarded full scholarships to a Kentucky public college, university, technical or trade school. To be eligible, Kentuckians must have received at least the first dose of Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines or the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Drawings will be held July 1, July 29 and Aug. 26, with winners announced the next day.
