Kentucky has lowest Wednesday virus total in 4 weeks

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky recorded its lowest Wednesday total of COVID-19 cases in a month. The state reported 2,424 new virus cases, the lowest Wednesday total in four weeks. Gov. Andy Beshear called it a “good sign.” The state also reported 47 deaths from the virus. Public Health Commissioner Steven Stack spoke about a coronavirus variant seen in the United Kingdom and now reported in Kentucky. The variant is believed to be more contagious, and Stack encouraged Kentuckians to continue wearing masks and social distancing, saying it’s more important now than ever.
