CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Denny Hamlin took exception to recent speculation the veterans at Joe Gibbs Racing should be concerned about their job security. A segment by NBC Sports spotlighted last weekend’s wins by JGR drivers Christopher Bell and Ty Gibbs and wondered if young drivers in Toyota’s development program will push Hamlin, Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. out of their seats. Hamlin noted he’s NASCAR’s current points leader and signed a contract extension before the season.
