Froome to join Israeli team after losing leadership at Ineos

Four-time Tour de France champion Chris Froome is joining fast-growing cycling team Israel Start-Up Nation for the start of next season after losing his status as the leader of Team Ineos following the emergence of Geraint Thomas and Egan Bernal. Froome’s contract with Ineos expires in December and the team has decided not to renew it. It ends a decade-long association during which Froome won seven Grand Tour titles with Ineos. Israel Start-Up Nation says Froome has joined on a multi-year deal and will be with the team “until the end of his illustrious career.”
