Just completing the European Championship a year later than planned will be a triumph on a continent trying to supress new coronavirus variants. The pandemic has meant a congested season for players and that poses fitness challenges. Playing the delayed tournament is essential for UEFA financially and beneficial for fans. The 24-team event should be the first chance for the widespread return of fans to stadiums.
