TAMPA, Fla (AP) — The Tampa Bay Lightning knew this playoff run was the last opportunity they’d get to be together as a group. Winning the Stanley Cup for the second consecutive year took on added importance this time. Players and coaches all know that changes are coming because of the salary cap. It will simply be too difficult and expensive to keep everyone on the roster. The Seattle expansion draft and flat cap will break up this core in a matter of weeks. Still, Tampa Bay’s core group of stars is locked up for several years to come.
