Bob Baffert’s Concert Tour a disappointing 9th in Preakness

BALTIMORE (AP) — Bob Baffert’s much-hyped Concert Tour finished a disappointing ninth in the Preakness. Concert Tour went off as the 4-1 third choice in the betting and was never in contention. Rombauer won the second leg of the Triple Crown by 3 1/2 lengths over Midnight Bourbon with Baffert’s Kentucky Derby-winning Medina Spirit third. Concert Tour finished ahead of only D. Wayne Lukas-trained long shot Ram in the 10-horse field. Jockey Mike Smith said he was at a loss for words about Concert Tour’s performance. It’s another tough race for owner Gary West’s horse, who finished third in the Arkansas Derby last month.
