INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Marco Andretti decided this year he no longer wanted to race fulltime. He left the Indianapolis 500 on his calendar and finds himself relaxed and content at the speedway this year. Andretti doesn’t have the best car and he knows he needs more speed ahead of qualifying. But he’s not freaking out as he prepares for his 16th Indy 500. He’s been able to enjoy racing again simply for its purity and pick and choose what he wants to do with his time.
