Humane society receives $200,000 grant

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Petco Love, a national nonprofit, is awarding a grant investment of $200,000 to support the Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society in its mission to save the lives of animals in South Central Kentucky.
According to the release, Petco Love states that its mission is to lead efforts to bring the power of love to make communities and pet families together.
Founded in 1999, Petco Love has invested $375 million in adoption and lifesaving efforts for animals. The organization partners with more than 4,000 organizations across North America and has helped 6.75 million pets find homes.
“Our investment in the Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society is part of more than $15M in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love. “Our local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us. We launched Petco Love Lost, a national lost and found database that uses patented image-recognition technology to simplify the search for lost pets.”
“We are so incredibly blessed to have been selected for the Petco Love grant again this year. This grant will allow us to continue our life saving efforts through our Community Cat program, our spay/neuter program, and our community outreach. The impact of the Petco Love grants we’ve received over the years is immeasurable, and this grant will continue that life-saving legacy,” said Lorri Hare, BGWCHS Director.
