Human trafficking survivor heads to Columbus, OH for Survivors March
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, Summer Dickerson shares her story with us.
Dickerson was once a victim of human trafficking. Even buried alive and beaten to near death.
However, as a survivor, her work in supporting other victims continues to today.
Unfortunately, so does human trafficking.
Dickerson is on her way to Columbus, Ohio where she hopes to see clemency granted to Alexis Martin.
Martin is a victim, like Cyntoia Brown, and Dickerson plans to rally and march on her behalf at the Survivors March on Columbus.
Dickerson is hoping Martin will achieve the same victory as Brown.
Although Dickerson’s Women of the Well Ministry is changing other women’s lives, she still recalls a time when she was a victim.
But says anyone bonded in human trafficking can break free like she did.
The Survivors March on Columbus takes place January 12th at 10:00 a.m.
Leaders from Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Michigan, and other Ohio cities will gather for the rally and march.
They’ll ask outgoing Governor John Kasich and incoming Governor Mike DeWine to grant clemency to Alexis Martin.
