Human remains found in Logan County

OLMSTEAD, Ky. – Just before 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Kentucky State Police Post 3 was contacted by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office about a death investigation.
The sheriff’s department said the body of a dead man was found in the Olmstead community, and the sheriff’s office requested state police investigate the death, according to a release from state police.
Detectives from Post 3 responded to the scene on Watermelon Road where the human remains were found in a filed near the 5400 block.
There were no obvious signs of foul play on the scene. At this time the man’s identity is unknown and cause of death has not yet been determined. An autopsy has been scheduled with the State Medical Examiners Office.
The investigation is ongoing.
