Human remains discovered in sinkhole in Simpson County

FRANKLIN, Ky.- Human remains were discovered Monday in Simpson County. Now, authorities are trying to determine who it is.

According to the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies located the remains in a sinkhole off of Harris School Road in Franklin.

The sinkhole is part of an underground cave system that had water flowing through it.

The remains have been sent to the medical examiner for identification and cause of death.

As WNKY has previously reported, a Golden Alert was issued last month for, Jessie Gregory, 67, who was reported missing.

According to the sheriff’s office, Gregory lives in close proximity to the area where the remains were discovered.
