Huge price cuts at Humane Society Empty the Shelters
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The BISSELL Pet Foundation sponsored Empty the Shelters event runs through this Sunday. One of the locations people are buying their pets from is the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society.
During each nationwide event, BISSELL Pet Foundation helps sponsor reduced adoption fees for $25 or less. For feline lovers, adult cat fees are completely waved right now.
This fall event is hosted in more than 190 shelters in 40 states. Before this week, the Empty the Shelters already connected over 60,000 pets with their new owners.
Already, people have adopted about 60 pets from the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society this week, and there are more adopted pets waiting to be medically cleared to go home over the next few days.
Kirsten Homer adopted her new husky, Charlie from the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society. She said, “[Buying pets is] so worth it. It improves your life so much to have an animal, and a rescue animal specifically it’s just such a strong bond.”
Adoption Center Manager Leah Lawrence said, “We would love for anybody who’s considering adopting a new family member to come out. Now is the time. Money is not an issue, so all you have to worry about is falling in love.”
This fall event happens quarterly, so people can keep their eyes out for the next upcoming Empty the Shelters to either volunteer or adopt.
