How to help your animals in the winter weather
BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – With temperatures dropping by the day, everyone needs to stay warm, including our animals.
Some shelters and animal lovers may have animals that spend most of their time outdoors, and with the winter weather, keeping those animals safe by providing proper bedding and keeping their paws moisturized can make the season more comfortable.
Connie Greer with Barren River Area Welfare Association says, “Other people besides shelters have to really watch their animals outside too, any of your small breed dogs, your senior dogs or any dogs with health conditions should not be out in this weather, a big rule of thumb. It’s too cold for you. It’s probably too cold for them. ”
Larger breeds like Huskies and Saint Bernards typically enjoy the cold, but it’s still extremely important to remain cautious and take care of your furry friends this winter.
