Housing Blitz Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Today was the start of the housing blitz by Habitat for Humanity here in Bowling Green.

The plan for this week is to build 10 homes in five days that will over the course of nine more weeks be fitted with plumbing and other household utilities. These homes are being built in hopes that it will provide some relief to the housing market in the area and help those who were displaced by the tornadoes.

A large number of those affected by the tornadoes back in December were people who rented their home, so this project is meant to provide affordable housing to the community. The homes are set to be completed and ready to move in to the first week of October 2022.

Bowling Green Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Rodney Goodman said despite the weather conditions, the beginning of the week is off to a good start and he would like to encourage people to reach out and sign up to volunteer as they see a need for more volunteers on Thursday and Friday of this week.
