House On The Hill

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Nonprofit House on the Hill Inc is celebrating a major milestone after providing over 350,000 meals to Warren County families.

On April 12, the nonprofit will have provided thousands of meals to local families, the result of an effort that started in February 2021, according to a release by the organization.

In the face of unprecedented challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, House on the Hill Inc says it has remained steadfast in its commitment to serving those experiencing food insecurity. Through innovative programs, partnerships and the dedication of volunteers, the organization has made a noticeable impact on hunger relief in our area.

“We are incredibly grateful to reach this milestone of 350,000+ meals provided in Warren County” said Joel Hawkins, executive director of House on the Hill Inc. “It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our volunteers, our Board of Directors and partners and donors who have rallied behind our mission. While we celebrate this achievement, we recognize that the need for food assistance remains significant, and we are committed to continuing our efforts to address hunger in our community.”

The nonprofit says it has two programs to meet the diverse needs of community members facing food insecurity.

Among these is a continuing monthly food box delivery program and The Grocery in Richardsville, Kentucky. They work to bring access to nutritious food for those in need.

The Grocery is a new, free shopping experience for clients in the Richardsville Elementary School district and a pilot of what is to come in other regions of the county.
