Hotel Inc. Preferred Tenant Program provides education on obtaining housing

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Hotel Inc. is calling on the community to support one of their many programs.

It’s called the Preferred Tenant Program.

The program is a counseling opportunity structured to address housing stability.

It accepts up to 40 participants and educates them on a variety of topics.

Those include housing rights, tenant responsibilities, landlord relationships.

The Preferred Tenant Program also teaches money management and the struggles of overcoming past choices.

This program consists of workgroups, or small groups of the same people, in 2-hour sessions across 11 weekly.

It serves those experiencing street homelessness, rent burdened or referred by community partners.

Hotel Inc.’s call for support is for local businesses and church congregations to sponsor a weekly lunch.

One lunch is during their morning sessions which would need to serve up to 25 individuals.

They also need sponsors for lunch and dinner on Thursday evenings prior to class, both on a weekly basis.

The Executive Director at Hotel Inc., Rhondell Miller, says this allows everyone to come together and break bread.

The goal of this program is also to show the participants their situations don’t define them.

Through lunch and dinner, everyone can feel no less or different than others at the table.

The lunch sponsorships are for local businesses and church congregations only.
