Hosparus Health Barren River seeking volunteers for Veterans Day

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Hosparus Health Barren River is seeking volunteers this Veterans Day.

According to Hosparus Health, it is hosting a free volunteer training session on Tuesday, Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at 101 Riverwood Ave. in Bowling Green.

Volunteers are especially needed to serve fellow veterans, the release says, along with other opportunities to provide companionship and support.

Volunteer needs include:

• Companionship for nursing home patients or individuals wherever they call home.
• Veterans honoring veterans in our care.
• A minimum commitment of two hours per month.

“Veterans bring unique understanding and connection when they visit other veterans,” said Tiffany Hinton, volunteer manager. “But no matter your background, if you have a compassionate heart, we have a place for you.”

Interested individuals should apply at hosparushealth.org/volunteers before the training session. If you are unable to attend in November, you can still apply now and register for future training opportunities. The next session is scheduled for Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon (CST) at the Bowling Green office.
