Horse Cave and Cave City become Trail Towns

CAVE CITY, Ky.-Two cities in South Central Kentucky are being recognized as top tourism destinations for their nature trails.

Cave City and Horse Cave have officially been certified as Kentucky Trail Towns, a year after each city was first approved for the certification.

What it means is that both cities will be recognized by outdoor adventurists and tourists as cities to stop in and explore. Being a Trail Town can greatly increase tourism, boosting the local economy.

Now that both cities are officially certified, the hope is that there will be a boost in local travel this tourism season.

“We’re just so excited; economically, growth, more visitors as well as more opportunity for our local citizens,” said Cave City Mayor Dwayne Hatcher

Seventeen other cities in Kentucky are certified Trail Towns, including Berea, Jamestown and Olive Hill.
