HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A Hopkinsville woman is celebrating a $50,000 win from the Kentucky Lottery.

According to a release by the Kentucky Lottery, the woman traveled to Kentucky Lottery headquarters on Tuesday to collect her $50,000 top prize from a Clover Cash Scratch-off ticket.

At this time, the woman wishes to remain anonymous.

Lottery officials say the woman and her husband stopped at 101 Lotto in Oak Grove for lottery tickets.

“I told them to give me two different $5 tickets” she said. On one of those tickets, they won $60 and figured they would try their luck one more time. “After that I went back and told them to give me another two $5 tickets of different kinds.”

They went home before scratching the tickets, revealing the big win.

“Babe is this real?” her husband asked. In disbelief, the woman says she started to wonder if it really was a winner. “I thought, ‘man that would be nice’. I have a lot I want to do around the house.” she said.

Once they realized they had won, lottery officials say they took the ticket back to where it was purchased to confirm the win.

After receiving $36,000 after taxes, the couple said they plan to do some landscaping and a few things around the house.

“I think we’ll take a vacation and be a blessing to a few friends that deserve it,” they said.

101 Lotto will receive $500 for selling the winning ticket.
