Hopkinsville man charged with child abuse

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A Hopkinsville man is facing charges related to alleged child abuse.
According to a uniform citation, the Hopkinsville Police Department was dispatched Monday night to South Virginia Street.
Police say dispatch received a call about 38-year-old Tyrone Pannell of Hopkinsville allegedly throwing an 8-year-old by the throat.
The citation states Pannell denied strangling the child. Police say the child had red marks on either side of his neck.
Pannell was arrested and faces charges of second-degree strangulation (domestic violence-related) and fourth-degree assault (child abuse).
