Hopkins Co. man arrested following alleged road rage incident

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A Hanson, Kentucky man is arrested following an alleged road rage incident.
On Tuesday, the Christian County Sheriff’s deputies received a call to shots fired on Pennyrile Parkway, near mile marker 18.
According to the arrest citation, Deputies were on the phone with the victims as they were followed by a man driving a truck that had fired shots at their vehicle.
Deputies set up a high-risk traffic stop at mile marker 11.
At the traffic stop, deputies detained Daniel Coffman, 74 of Hanson. The Hopkinsville Police Department assisted with the stop and the interview of the victims.
Coffman admitted to officers that he fired his weapon to scare the victims. Coffman claims the victims were speeding up and slowing down on the parkway.
The citation says Hopkinsville Police observed a bullet hole in the victims’ vehicle bumper, contradicting Coffman’s account.
Coffman is charged with Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree.
