Hope Harbor hosts Take Back the Night event
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Community members in Bowling Green marched the square to raise awareness about sexual assault.
On Thursday, Hope Harbor hosted Take Back the Night, an international event with the mission to end sexual violence.
Hope Harbor is a non-profit that provides counseling to victims of sexual assault.
Bowling Green had its own march and rally at First Christian Church. It included singing, dancing, poetry and a heart-wrenching testimony from a sexual assault survivor.
“My speech tonight is about in the face of a violating trauma like sexual assault, to be joyful is a revolutionary act. I’m going to talk about how a large part of my dealing was just laughing with the women in my life,” said Hannah Good, a student at Western Kentucky University.
