Hope House hosting its yearly Affordable Christmas, helping area families

Affordable Christmas

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Hope House Ministries is collecting donations for its Affordable Christmas program.

According to a release, the program is designed to bring joy and dignity to families by giving parents the opportunity to provide for their children at Christmas. Hope House offers faith-based education, transportation, addiction recovery, workforce development, transitional housing and financial empowerment programs.

The deadline for donations is Dec. 7.

Donations can be dropped off at Hope House at 112 W. 10th Ave. in Bowling Green or any of the drop off locations listed on their website here.

Organizers say the program partners with six area churches and 25 schools to establish shopping centers where Bowling Green and Warren County parents can purchase gifts for their children at one-tenth of retail value.

Hope House says this is expected to serve about 500 families this season.

The organization is accepting new, unwrapped toys and teen gifts for age ranges between newborn through a senior in high school. Organizers ask that donated toys have a minimum value of $10.

The greatest needs are $15 toys or greater for children ages seven and older, organizers say.

Hope House also has online registries on their website, where toys can be purchased and shipped to their office.

Monetary donations are also welcomed and used to purchase toys for children, with Hope House relying on generosity of the community to provide Affordable Christmas.

Hope House says all donations serve families in Warren County.
