Historic aircraft makes its way to South Central Kentucky; rides available
BOWLING GREEN Ky.- A piece of history flew into the Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport Friday.
The aircraft is the historic DC-3, also known as Flagship Detroit. This weekend, locals are being given the opportunity to take a ride in the aircraft. During the ride, anyone can take a view of south-central Kentucky from the cockpit of the aircraft.
“It’s a pleasure for us to be able to fly the airplane because it has had a tremendous history. We feel just very grateful that we’re able to fly the airplane,” DC-3 Captain Dave Buffington said.
Anyone wanting to experience the flight can become a member of the Flagship Detroit foundation for $100.
