Hindu Temple invites you to inaugural celebration
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green’s large Hindu population is celebrating the inauguration of their new temple on Scottsville road.
Friday, the congregation will begin day one of their five day inauguration ceremony.
Without a temple in Bowling Green, many say they have driven to either Nashville or Louisville to attend a Hindu temple.
Mayor Todd Alcott and state representatives will attend the ribbon cutting tomorrow, and governor Beshear will send a personal message.
People have already flown in from India, Canada and other nations across the world for this inauguration ceremony.
Temple Spokesperson Dr. Ram Pasupuleti said, “It’s a very positive sign that we are having this temple. I’m glad that we have one more [element] – a community center. We want the temple to be a community center.”
Pasupuleti added, “We are glad to have this temple which will be a center of faith and also a community center.”
Everyone is invited to the inauguration ceremony and kick off to a five day celebration that begins 9:00 a.m. Friday.
