Hilltoppers set to host in-state showdown

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU football is preparing to defend its home turf when the Tops welcome Eastern Kentucky to Houchens-Smith stadium on Saturday night.

Both teams are eager to shake off their losses last week and are excited to meet again since their last in-state showdown with each other in 2017 when WKU took the win.

Here’s how head coach Tyson Helton is feeling ahead of kickoff.

“I think it ought to be a good matchup there,” Helton said. “You know, they’re a quality football team. We both took one last week against two really good SEC opponents, so both of us will be hungry to go out there and try to get a win. It should make for a really good game.”
