Hilltoppers announce signing of Rodney Tisdale Jr.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WKU Athletics) – WKU Football announced the signing of quarterback Rodney Tisdale Jr. on Wednesday.

Tisdale, a 6-2, 183-pound quarterback out of First Coast High School in Jacksonville, Florida, was rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports and On3, and was considered a two-star prospect by Rivals.

In his final prep season at First Coast High, Tisdale threw for 2,348 yards and 26 touchdowns to just eight interceptions on 157-of-260 passing, according to his team’s MaxPrep’s account. He also rushed for 266 yards and three touchdowns on 65 attempts.

As a junior in 2022, Tisdale completed 146-of-230 passes for 1,873 yards and 18 touchdowns.

The Hilltoppers announced the signings of nine players in late January, after announcing 17 new players had signed with the program in December. Of the 26 previously announced signees, two are quarterbacks – Texas State transfer TJ Finley and Tucker Parks out of Klein Collins High School in Texas.

WKU is scheduled to open the 2024 season at Alabama on Aug. 31.
