Hill Motley Lumber celebrates 80 years of service to Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The only locally owned and operated lumber yard in Bowling Green is celebrating a big milestone: 80 years of service to the community.

Hill-Motley was founded in 1945 and has been serving South Central Kentucky and Northern Tennessee ever since.

The company has long been known as the place where building starts in Bowling Green, and they’re honored to reach this milestone.

President and owner Catherine Vaughn purchased the business from her father, Bill Mason… and even though he no longer owns it, she says she couldn’t run the company without his help.

“I couldn’t have done it without him. His dedication and loyalty to this company and also to our employees and staff that we have. We continue to evolve and grow with our community, and if it wasn’t for our customers in the Bowling Green community, we wouldn’t be here,” Vaughn says.

A ribbon cutting was held in celebration of the achievement, as well as giveaways and a chance to see what the future may hold for Hill Motley.

They hope to be around for another 80 years to come.
