Hightower gives update on Warren County Sheriff’s Office to Bowling Green Rotary Club

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Warren County Sheriff, Brett Hightower, announced Wednesday that his department is looking to hire four new deputies.

The sheriff made the announcement at the Bowling Green Rotary Club’s weekly luncheon at the Bowling Green Country Club.

Hightower said after studying the sheriff’s office $7.5 million budget, he reallocated some money in order to fund the four new deputy positions.

Hightower also told Rotarians that he is meeting with all 100 members of his staff to get some insight on how to make his agency function better.

In addition, Hightower said he recently had a joint meeting with the chiefs of the Bowling Green and Western Kentucky University police departments and the commander of Kentucky State Police Post 3. Hightower tells WNKY the four will attend regular meetings together.

“Anytime we can sit down with other law enforcement leaders within our community and talk about different issues and crime that they are seeing, and we can collaborate together, it’s best for this county,” said Hightower.

In addition to his remarks, Hightower was welcomed Wednesday as the Rotary Club’s newest member.
