Highland Social holds ribbon cutting for restaurant’s grand opening in Glasgow
GLASGOW, Ky.- Thursday afternoon, a ribbon cutting was held at Highland Social to celebrate the restaurant’s grand opening.
After operating under soft opening hours since the beginning of December, the restaurant celebrated its official grand opening surrounded by the community.
Numerous local officials and Glasgow citizens gathered at the Scottish themed restaurant, with City Council member Terry Bunnell even donning a kilt.
Laura Towe, Owner of Highland Social, cited the tight-knit community and camaraderie of Glasgow as part of the reason for opening the new business on the square.
“When this opportunity came in 2025 we thought why not?” Towe said, “Everybody has been so amazing to us here. Why would we not want to sit and meet the people that we see throughout the years? So it’s been really fun getting to meet everybody and just sitting around a meal together.”
Highland Social will be open Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 10 and 11 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
