High speed pursuit in Warren County ends in motorcycle crash, arrest

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling man is facing charges after leading police on a high-speed pursuit.
Kentucky State Police Post 3 says a man on a motorcycle was traveling at speeds more than 120 miles per hour northbound on I165 on Wednesday evening. The motorcycle was weaving in and out of traffic during the pursuit.
A trooper initiated attempts to pull the suspect over and observed the motorcycle enter I65 northbound off I165.
The trooper says the motorcycle reached speeds over 160 miles per hour.
The vehicle’s operator then exited onto I65 onto Corvette Drive in Bowling Green. The operator then attempted to take the ramp onto 31W northbound.
Troopers say the motorcycle crashed into a guardrail.
The vehicle’s operator is identified as Kieron Johnson, 21 of Bowling Green.
Johnson was transported to the Medical Center for a medical evaluation. Following the medical evaluation, Johnson was taken into custody.
Troopers say Johnson said he attempted to flee because he was scared.
Johnson is charged with speeding 26 mph or > speed limit (limited access), fleeing or evading police 1st degree, reckless driving, improper passing, failure to or improper signal, improper display of registration plates, and improper use of left lane – overtaking vehicle.
Johnson is lodged at the Warren County Regional Jail.
