HHS stops free at-home Covid-19 tests by mail

The federal government is no longer accepting orders for free at-home Covid-19 tests. That’s according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The agency did not immediately respond to a question asking why ordering has been paused. It is also unclear if the program has been shut down permanently. The HHS’s covidtests.gov website said any orders that were placed before 8 P.M. Eastern time on Sunday would still be shipped out. At-home tests are still available at grocery stores and pharmacies.
