Heroes Take Flight in New Aviation Heritage Park Exhibit
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WNKY) – A new exhibit honoring 18 aviators with ties to Southcentral Kentucky is now open at Aviation Heritage Park & Museum.
Titled Heroes’ Homecoming, the exhibit features the stories of decorated military pilots and astronauts, including General Dan Cherry, a former Thunderbird commander and author of My Enemy, My Friend, and Col. Terry Wilcutt, a Russellville native who became a NASA Space Shuttle Commander.
Other honorees include General Steve Basham, who rose from L.C. Curry Elementary to become Deputy Commander of U.S. Air Forces in Europe, and Capt. Jacob Vaughan, a South Warren High School graduate and current F-16 pilot.
The exhibit is open during regular museum hours, Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
