Henkel partners with ALPLA to invest over $130 million in Bowling Green operations

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-Two Bowling Green companies have announced a multi-million dollar partnership to enhance laundry detergent production.

Henkel is investing over $130 million with ALPLA Inc.

The investment will be used to build infrastructure, including a new 170,000 sq. ft. bottle production area on the Henkel campus. Additionally, ALPLA will hire 60 employees once construction is complete.

According to the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, the ALPLA-managed packaging operation will have an economic impact on south central Kentucky totaling more than $275 million over a 10 year period and will begin operations in mid-2020.

Henkel, a global leader in laundry, home care, beauty care and adhesives, is the largest operation in the South Central Kentucky Industrial Park and the largest laundry plant within the company at more than 2 million sq. ft.

ALPLA is a world leader in development and production of plastic packaging solutions and recently invested $6.9 million into 60,000 sq. ft. in additional warehouse space in the Kentucky Transpark.
