Hendersonville man indicted following insurance fraud investigation

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – A Hendersonville man was charged with insurance fraud following an investigation.
According to a release, the Hendersonville Police Department launched an investigation into 67-year-old Richard Wolfe, of Hendersonville, after a complaint from a business that Wolfe was selling insurance policies without remitting required payments.
HPD says policies were canceled without the victims’ knowledge.
Following an investigation by detectives that began on Nov. 18, 2025, a grand jury indicted Wolfe on charges of theft of property ($60,000 – $250,000), 7 counts of theft of property ($10,000-$60,000), 5 counts of theft of property ($2,500-$10,000), theft of property ($1,000-$2,500), 3 counts of forgery (over $250,000) and money laundering.
HPD officers arrested Wolfe on Thursday without incident.
He was lodged at the Sumner County Jail on a $100.000 bond.
HPD says he is scheduled to appear in criminal court on March 10.
The investigation is ongoing.
