Helm Library gets a new look

BOWLING GREEN Ky.-The Helm Library on the campus of Western Kentucky University is getting a face lift.

The Margie Helm Library is being renovated into the Commons at Helm Library. As of now, the project is on track to be complete by spring 2021.

It’s part of a $35 million project, and the commons will feature a brand-new design, giving students a fresh spot to study and hang out on the hill.

Western Kentucky University director of media relations Bob Skipper said he’s excited to see the finished product.

“We’re glad that the projects are on schedule. We’re really looking forward to the completion. We think it’ll have a big impact on our students and faculty and staff as well. It’ll really enhance the WKU experience,” Skipper said.

The Java City Coffee Shop that was originally in the Helm Library will be moved next door to the Garrett Conference Center.
