Heather Strode Scholarship Fund receives $1,000 in donations

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One local group is celebrating the generosity of the community to support a scholarship fund honoring a Western Kentucky University professor.

The Scott Bolt Be Kind Club says during the month of January, $1,000 was raised for the Heather Strode Scholarship Fund at WKU.

Strode, an associate professor of communication at WKU, died on Dec. 31.

To honor her memory, the university’s website says family and friends established the Heather Strode Scholarship Fund to help deserving students obtain a higher education.
