Heart of Scottsville lends helping hand with ‘Letters to Santa’ program

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – One local nonprofit is acting as a Christmas helper by hosting a Letters to Santa program.
Heart of Scottsville is stepping in to bridge the place where wishes are heard and answered.
The nonprofit says some of the letters from children in the Scottsville community included a child asking for a bed to sleep in, while another wanted to make sure his brothers and sisters got everything on their lists.
Heart of Scottsville says it wants to help ensure these children get their answers back in the form of gifts and a memory they won’t forget.
The program runs from Nov. 29 at 8 a.m. to Dec. 12 at 8 p.m.
For children’s letters to get an answer, their Christmas wishes should be submitted to the large red mailbox downtown by Scottsville’s Christmas tree.
To help fulfill a wish, each letter should include a child’s first name and age and a parent or guardian’s contact information to be sure the magic finds its way home.
Gifts will be delivered to downtown shops. From Dec. 17-19, kids will walk into local businesses and find a surprise waiting for them, according to the nonprofit.
