Health officials confirm possible measles exposure in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Health officials say they have identified a possible measles case exposure in Lexington.

According to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, an unvaccinated, out-of-state traveler stayed at the Hyatt Place in Hamburg from Dec. 31 through Jan. 2.

Health officials say measles is a highly contagious respiratory virus, which can lead to serious complications, particularly in young children.

Vaccination is the best protection against measles, according to the health department.
