Hart County to host first Children’s Business Fair this Saturday
HART COUNTY, Ky. – Hart County will be hosting its first Children’s Business Fair this Saturday.
Twenty six young entrepreneurs will be operating over 20 booths. Businesses include everything from hand-made jewelry and sweets to fishing gear and pet rocks.
Participants in the Children’s Business Fair said, “So I will be selling birdhouses, car charms, wood bee catchers and a fabric American flag. I just like the idea of wristlets. Because you can just put them on your wrist and, you know, you have your keys everywhere you go. My parents had a cotton candy machine, and we were looking up some stuff online for some ideas. And we found Jolly Rancher cotton candy, which I thought would be cool. So we tested it out, and it actually works.”
Some participants are using online resources for inspiration, like making Jolly Rancher flavored cotton candy.
The fair will be an annual event. Awards will be given out for best presentation, most original business idea and most business potential.
Event organizers are hopeful that the Children’s Business Fair provides experiences for youngsters who may use it as a beginning to later careers.
